QR code generator.

Turn a link, Wi-Fi login, contact card or message into a QR code you can print or share. Download it as a PNG or a sharp SVG for print.

Lead generation

About this tool.

A QR code lets someone point a phone camera at a poster, menu, shopfront or visiting card and land straight on your page, your Wi-Fi, or a saved contact. This generator makes static codes: the details are written into the code itself, so they never expire and nothing depends on our site or a paid account. It checks the colour contrast, the border and how dense the code is, because those are the usual reasons a printed code will not scan.

How to use it
  1. Choose what the code should do: open a link, show text, join Wi-Fi, save a contact, or start an email, call or SMS. Fill in the details.
  2. Pick colours, the error correction level and a size. Read the checks, especially the contrast and density notes.
  3. Download the PNG or the SVG, print a test copy and scan it with a couple of phones before you print a large batch.

What should the code do when scanned?

Look and size

Good for most uses. Higher levels still scan when part of the code is damaged, but make it denser.

Everything is made in your browser. What you type, including Wi-Fi passwords, is never sent to us.

Checks
  • Fill in the details on the left and your QR code appears here.

Good to know: Always test the printed code before you use it. Keep a dark code on a light background, leave the white border around it, and print it at least 2.5 cm wide (larger if people scan from a distance, such as on a hoarding). For a link, add UTM tags so Analytics can count the scans, and keep the address short for a cleaner, easier code.

Questions

Good to know.

Do these QR codes expire?+
No. The code holds your details directly (a static code), so it works for as long as the link, number or Wi-Fi it points to still exists. If the page address changes later, the printed code will not follow it, so use a stable address that redirects if the page moves.
What does error correction mean?+
QR codes carry extra data so they can still be read when part of the code is dirty, scuffed or covered. Low recovers about 7 percent, medium 15, quartile 25 and high 30. Higher levels make the code denser, so medium is a good default and quartile or high suits rough print.
Which download should I use, PNG or SVG?+
Use SVG for print and signs, since it stays sharp at any size, and send it to your printer. Use PNG for websites, WhatsApp and documents. The PNG size is a minimum, the tool picks the nearest size that keeps every square crisp.
Can I add my logo in the middle?+
Not in this tool. A logo covers part of the code and only works if the error correction level is high and the logo is small, and it is easy to make a code that fails on some phones. If you add one elsewhere, scan the result on several phones first.
Is a Wi-Fi QR code safe to print?+
It lets anyone who can see the code join your network, the same as sharing the password. Use it for a guest network, or print it only where guests will see it. The password is only used inside your browser to build the code.
Is what I type sent anywhere?+
No. The code is made inside your browser, so links, passwords and contact details are not uploaded or saved. The tool has no scan counter either, so use a link with UTM tags if you want to measure scans.
