On-page SEO

About this tool.

The tags in the head of a page decide how it appears in Google and how a link looks when someone shares it on WhatsApp, LinkedIn or X. This tool reads them all in one go: title, meta description, canonical link, robots, language, Open Graph, X (Twitter) card, hreflang and the types of structured data (JSON-LD). It also checks lengths, a stray noindex, missing share images and broken JSON-LD. Browsers do not allow a web page to fetch another website, so you paste the page source. It is read in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How to use it
  1. Open your page, press Ctrl+U (or right-click and choose View page source), select all and copy.
  2. Paste it into the box, or upload a saved .html file. The tags are listed straight away.
  3. Fix what the checks flag, then copy the result as JSON or text if you want to keep it.

Nothing is uploaded. The page is read inside your browser. 911 characters.

Metadata found

Good to know: Tags added by JavaScript after the page loads may be missing from View page source. If you use a JavaScript framework, copy the rendered HTML from the browser inspector (right-click the <html> tag, Copy outerHTML) for the full picture.

Questions

Good to know.

Why can I not just type my web address?+
Browsers block one website from reading another, so a free in-browser tool cannot fetch your page for you. Pasting the page source works for any page, including ones that are not public yet.
What does noindex do?+
A robots meta tag with noindex asks search engines not to show the page in results. It is useful for thank-you pages and private pages, and a costly mistake on pages you want to rank.
Why does my shared link show no image?+
Usually og:image is missing, is not a full https:// address, or points to a file that is too small or blocked. Set a full address to an image of about 1200 by 630 pixels.
Is my HTML sent anywhere?+
No. The page is read inside your browser. Scripts in the pasted code are not run.
